Aldéa Landry

Aldéa Landry is a lawyer, businesswoman and president of the consulting firm Landal Inc. She has been a civil servant with the New Brunswick Department of Justice, a legal practitioner in a law firm that she co-founded, a provincial minister and Deputy Premier in the cabinet of the Honourable Frank McKenna.

A very active player in the community and the business world, Aldéa Landry was the first woman Chair of the Atlantic Provinces Economic Council. She was a member of the Board of Directors of the Bank of Canada from 1995 to 2005 and a member of the Security Intelligence Review Committee. She currently serves on the boards of directors of several corporations and national and community organizations, including Fraser Papers Inc., The Bragg Group of Companies, The Shaw Group, the Canadian Investor Protection Fund, Moosehead Breweries Ltd., CARE Canada, the Canadian Council on Learning, and the Advisory Committee on the Public Service. She is President of the Board of Directors of the Vitalité Health Network, and she chairs the fundraising campaign for the Atlantic Ballet Theatre of Canada.

In 1987, Chatelaine magazine named her one of the 25 most dynamic women in Canada and, in January 2003, she was chosen by Progress Magazine as one of 20 people who represent the spirit of progress in Atlantic Canada. In March 2009, the Greater Moncton Chamber of Commerce awarded her the Muriel Fergusson Award for her exemplary leadership and commitment to the community. Moreover, in November 2009, the Women’s Executive Network listed her among Canada’s Most Powerful Women: Top 100.
